Toryen raises thousands for UK children’s charity

January 2, 2026

As Mach Recruitment, part of the Toryen Group, celebrates 18 years in the high-volume staffing sector, its commitment to compassion, inclusion and community has never been more evident than in two recent charity fund-raising efforts.

Known for helping almost 100 brands across the UK find and manage the talent they need, Mach also ensures its own people are invested in something bigger – giving back to the communities they serve.

Two Weeks, Two Big Challenges

Mach employees took on not one but two major fundraising events within a fortnight this July, both in support of their charity partner, The Boparan Charitable Trust, which helps transform the lives of disadvantaged children and young people across the UK.

First up was the legendary Midlands 15k Tough Mudder, where a fearless team from Mach Recruitment took on the gruelling course. Being splattered in mud and pushed to the limit was all part of the challenge. Their efforts paid off, raising over £2,510 for charity.

Next up, eleven more Mach fundraisers headed to Scarborough for the Dragon Boat Race, once again digging deep, this time with paddles, to support Boparan’s mission. The event, held in aid of The Boparan Charitable Trust and the Greggs Foundation—a major Northern-based charity that works to address issues of poverty and inequality, and ensure food is at the heart of communities—raised a whopping £36,500 in total for the two causes, with Mach’s team contributing to the impressive sum.

Gareth Aston, Director of The Boparan Charitable Trust said:

“We are eternally grateful to our superstar fundraisers from Mach Recruitment who took on the mighty Tough Mudder and the Dragon Boat Race.

A huge thank you to the team for everything they do to support our vital work in creating brighter futures for disadvantaged children across the UK.”

This incredible effort helped fund a specialist trike for Hannah, a young girl whose life will be transformed by the gift of independence and mobility.

The recruitment company has a generosity of spirit at the heart of its DNA. Not only did its adventurous fundraisers make a difference for charity, but the company also recently donated £5,000 worth of Stitch toys to children’s hospitals and hospices across Leeds, in celebration of the release of the live-action Lilo & Stitch movie.

Built on Community

These initiatives are part of Mach Recruitment’s wider commitment to supporting people, not only clients and candidates, but communities across the UK.

Emma Irvine, Head of Technical at Mach and team leader for both charity events, said:

“We regularly take part in events alongside our clients and our chosen charities – whether that’s fundraising events, golf days, award dinners or local causes like community football clubs needing sponsorship.

At Mach, we take real pride in embedding ourselves in the areas where we operate. Supporting local causes isn’t just something we do, it’s a core part of who we are.”

Mach Recruitment knows that a thriving workforce starts with real human connection, the kind that inspires, uplifts and makes a lasting impact.
